Messaggio del Ministro delle Comunicazioni del Governo della Repubblica Araba di Egitto,
Paese che ospitera' l'Internet Governance Forum 2009.

"L'Egitto ospita il 4° IGF a Sharm El Sheikh nel novembre 2009.

Siamo lieti di invitarvi tutti a partecipare a questo importante evento. L'IGF è una piattaforma multi-stakeholder che coinvolge governi, società civile, il settore privato, ma anche esperti, per parlare insieme del futuro di Internet. Ci piacerebbe vedere la massima partecipazione, specialmente da parte dei nostri amici europei ed italiani. L'Italia ha un ruolo centrale nel dialogo dell'area del Mediterraneo, e il suo contributo in questo evento è di grande importanza. L'evento coprirà molte importanti tematiche quali la sicurezza, la salvaguardia dei minori in rete, la diffusione della banda larga, il multilinguismo, come pure la gestione delle risorse critiche e molti altri argomenti vitali per il futuro dello cyberspazio. Vorremo vedere un dialogo intenso sui vari argomenti e ci aspettiamo di vedervi tutti a Sharm El Sheikh tra qualche settimana.

A PISA, DAL 5 AL 7 OTTOBRE 2009, IL SECONDO INTERNET GOVERNANCE FORUM ITALIA

“Crescita economica, partecipazione sociale, diritti e doveri degli utenti della rete: attraverso Internet passa lo sviluppo delle societa' future. Per questa ragione e' fondamentale impegnarsi nella governance della Rete italiana, per individuare le soluzioni piu' opportune ai numerosi e urgenti problemi che pone, in sintonia con le iniziative delle Nazioni Unite e le azioni dell'Unione Europea”.

N.U.: Invito alla partecipazione allo IGF globale 2009

On behalf of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, I am pleased to invite you to the fourth annual meeting of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, on 15-18 November 2009, which is being graciously hosted by the Government of Egypt.

Participation will be open to all entities accredited to the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS). Other institutions and persons with proven expertise and experience in matters related to Internet governance may also apply to attend.

The overall theme of the meeting will be Internet Governance – Creating Opportunities for All. The theme reflects the basic purpose of the IGF to develop a common understanding of how to maximize the opportunities the Internet offers for all nations and peoples, and how to address the risks and challenges, while also raising awareness of the development dimension of Internet governance.

A broad-based consultation process through the Multistakeholder Advisory Group has generated the following proposed agenda for the meeting:

•    Managing critical internet resources;
•    Security, openness and privacy;
•    Access and diversity;
•    Internet governance in light of WSIS principles;
•    Emerging issues – impact of social networks; and
•    Taking stock and the way forward – desirability of the continuation of the Forum.

On the last item, regarding the future of the IGF beyond its five-year mandate, we would like to invite ideas and comments from all stakeholders and urge you to share your views with us at: http://www.intgovforum.org/cms/index.php/review-process.

I hope you will be able to join us in Sharm El Sheikh this November.

IGF Italia 2009: a Pisa il secondo incontro

Per preparare la partecipazione italiana al prossimo Internet Governance Forum globale, che si svolgera' dal 15 al 18 novembre 2009 a Sharm El Sheikh in Egitto, il Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR) attraverso il suo Istituto di Informatica e Telematica, ospitera' a Pisa il prossimo Internet Governance Forum Italia.
